Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo - Welcome to the Land of the Pharaohs

  • Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our representative holding a “Valley of Kings Travel” sign.
  • Enjoy a comfortable, air-conditioned transfer to your hotel.
  • Overnight: Cairo

Day 2: Cairo - Giza's Wonders & Ancient Gold

  • After breakfast, your expert guide will lead you on a full-day tour.
    • Egyptian Museum: Delve into 5,000 years of history, marveling at the world's largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities. The highlight is the dazzling collection of Tutankhamun's treasures, discovered in his tomb after being sealed for over 3,500 years.
    • Giza Plateau: Stand in awe before the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos.
    • The Great Sphinx: Get an up-close look at the enigmatic limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a king, a timeless guardian of the Giza necropolis.
  • In the evening, transfer to the train station for your journey south.

  • Overnight: Sleeper Train to Aswan
  • Important Note: To make the most of your trip, we highly recommend upgrading from the 15–18-hour sleeper train to a quick domestic flight. You'll travel in greater comfort and, best of all, enjoy an extra night at your hotel.

Day 3: Nile Cruise Embarkation - Aswan's Gems

  • Enjoy breakfast on the train as you arrive in Aswan.
  • Begin your day's explorations with visits to:
    • The High Dam: An incredible modern engineering marvel.
    • Philae Temple: A stunning island temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis.
  • Transfer to your Nile cruise ship and board before lunch.
  • Settle in and enjoy lunch on board as you begin your tranquil sail down the Nile towards Kom Ombo.
  • Afternoon Tea: Relax and watch the timeless landscapes glide by.
  • Kom Ombo Temple: Visit the unique temple dedicated to two gods: the crocodile-god Sobek and the falcon-god Haroeris.
  • Sail to Edfu for the night, enjoying dinner and a lively Disco Party on board.

  • Overnight: Onboard the Cruise in Edfu

Day 4: Nile Cruise - The Temple of Horus

  • After breakfast, visit the magnificent Temple of Horus in Edfu, the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt.
  • Return to the ship and continue your scenic sail towards Luxor, passing through the Esna Lock.
  • Enjoy afternoon tea, followed by dinner and a festive Galabya Party.

  • Overnight: Onboard the Cruise in Luxor

Day 5: Luxor - Valley of the Kings & Queens

  • Following breakfast, cross the Nile to Luxor's famed West Bank.
  • Explore the necropolis of Thebes, including:
    • Valley of the Kings: Discover the royal tombs carved deep into the desert rock, the final resting place of pharaohs for nearly 500 years.
    • Temple of Queen Hatshepsut: Marvel at the breathtaking terraced temple of Egypt's most famous female pharaoh at Deir El Bahari.
    • Colossi of Memnon: Stop to photograph the two massive stone statues of Amenhotep III that have guarded the Theban necropolis for centuries.
  • Return to the ship for lunch, with the afternoon free for you to relax at your leisure.

  • Overnight: Onboard the Cruise in Luxor

Day 6: Luxor Disembarkation & Return Journey

  • Enjoy a final breakfast on board before disembarking from your cruise.
  • The day is yours to explore Luxor further with our optional tours (see below).
  • In the evening, transfer to the train station for your journey back to Cairo.

Day 7: Alexandria - The Pearl of the Mediterranean

  • Arrive in Cairo after breakfast on the train and embark on a private, air-conditioned journey to the vibrant coastal city of Alexandria.
  • Check into your hotel, then begin your guided tour of this historic city.
    • Bibliotheca Alexandrina: Visit the modern Library of Alexandria, a tribute to the legendary ancient library, now holding up to 8 million books.
    • Citadel of Qaitbey: Explore the 15th-century fortress built on the exact site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
    • Montaza Palace Gardens: Stroll through the royal gardens of King Farouk, Egypt's last king.
    • Abou El-Abbas Al-Mursi Mosque: Admire the city's largest and most beautiful mosque.
  • Drive along the scenic 30km Corniche, passing the Stanley Bridge and the old harbor, to experience the full grandeur of the city from the seaside.

Day 8: Return to Cairo & Optional Ancient Wonders

  • After breakfast, enjoy a comfortable transfer back to Cairo and check into your hotel.
  • The remainder of the day is free, or you can choose our highly recommended optional tour to Egypt's earliest monumental structures.

Day 9: Final Departure

  • Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel.
  • Our representative will transfer you to Cairo International Airport and assist you with departure formalities for your flight home.
